New feature “Waiting list” takes care of it for you: clients join the waiting list for a fully booked appointment, and when a spot opens up, Lime Booking notifies them automatically — without you even having to pick up the phone.
How the waiting list works
When an appointment is full or already booked, the client joins the waiting list. When a spot opens up — because another client cancels or you increase capacity — the system automatically notifies clients on the waiting list and sends them a link to confirm the appointment.
Result: empty appointment slots fill themselves, your schedule stays full, and you save the time you previously spent on manual coordination.
You choose how the waiting list notifies clients
For each location, you can choose how notifications are sent — separately for group and regular appointments:
- All at once — when a spot becomes available, all clients on the waiting list are notified at the same time. The appointment goes to the first person to respond. Ideal when you want to fill the spot as quickly as possible.
- In order — the system notifies the first client on the list and gives them a set amount of time (e.g. 20 minutes) to confirm. If they don’t respond, the notification is automatically sent to the next person. Fairer to clients who have been waiting longer.
- Manually — if you prefer to stay in control, you can notify the client or book the appointment yourself when you feel the time is right.
Waiting list for regular appointments too
The waiting list isn’t just for fully booked group appointments.
A client looking for an available appointment within a certain period enters their preferred timeframes — for example, from the 3rd to the 5th of the month, in the morning, only on Wednesdays and Fridays.
When an appointment becomes available within the selected period, the system automatically notifies the client, who then books it through the link. No phone calls and no need to keep track of who was waiting for which appointment.
Waiting list for group appointments
When a group appointment is full, the client no longer has to wait until “next time”. On the online form, they click “Join the waiting list”, enters their details and submits the request — and you can see everyone waiting for that appointment, together with their status (waiting, notified, booked, cancelled).
When a spot becomes available, notified clients receive a link where they can confirm or decline the booking.

1. How do I enable the waiting list?
You enable the waiting list separately for each location — in the location settings, right at the bottom, under “Waiting list settings”.
2. Do clients need an app to join?
No. The client joins the waiting list through the online form and receives a notification with a booking link when a spot becomes available.
3. Does the waiting list work for both group and regular appointments?
Yes. You can set a separate notification method for each appointment type.
4. Which plan includes the waiting list?
